Pastoral Perspectives:
A beautiful start to a new year. This school community really is blessed with caring and helpful people. I have had the pleasure of meeting many students and I feel even more affirmed in my call to be here.
Format for Eucharistic Celebrations:
New this week is the change in format for Eucharistic celebrations. We are shifting from large-school Masses to religion-class Eucharistic Celebrations in the Chapel. Fr. Jessimar, Fr. Amesse and Fr. Freely have agreed to participate in this endeavor and I am searching for a French-speaking priest to celebrate with the French Immersion classes. Along with our smaller Mass format we will be having large- school Liturgies of the Word that will incorporate the arts and the abundance of talent that exists in our student and staff population. We will be letting you know the dates for our Masses and liturgies as soon as the schedule is finalized.
From week to week I will keep you posted as to what is happening in and around the Chapel. I am also looking forward to meeting you at the many opportunities throughout the year. If you have a question about the Chaplaincy Program here at Mother Teresa, please let me know and I will be pleased to answer the questions through this newsletter.
Every Friday you will receive an update on what I'm doing as well as an answer to one of your questions. Please forward questions, comments, etc. to martha.dougherty@ottawacatholicschools.ca
I look forward to chatting with you.
Peace,
Martha
