01/12/2011

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Happy New Year everyone! I have been working on my first Constant Contact Message since returning from the Christmas Break, but today I am delaying that update to share with you news I received last evening. I am being transferred from Mother Teresa High School effective the end of our High School Semester One, February 2nd, 2011, to St. Peter High School in Orleans.

I did not apply for a transfer and was surprised to receive the news that I am being transferred after only two and a half years at Mother Teresa. When I became an administrator nine years ago, I committed myself to go wherever and whenever I was needed, not knowing how difficult it would be to leave an incredible community like Mother Teresa. Please know how much I have enjoyed my time at Mother Teresa High School and how much I have appreciated your support. I will truly miss our students, staff, parents, and community at large. You are a community blessed with diverse cultures and spirituality, tremendous community pride and identity, and a willingness to work together to the benefit of our youth. I have cherished the time I have spent here and thank you for the privilege of working with your children.

My replacement is Ms. Mary-Ellen Agnel, currently the Principal of the Safe Schools Program with our school board based out of St. Ambrose School. I will work with Ms. Agnel over the next two and a half weeks to help transition her into her new role. I know that Ms. Agnel will be a welcomed addition to the Mother Teresa community.

I have shared the news with the students over our Public Announcement System here this morning after meeting with my staff prior to the start of our school day. I will be communicating with you over the next couple of weeks as I send out highlights and upcoming dates.

I do wish everyone the very best for 2011, and thank you again for a wonderful two and a half years!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Norma McDonald
Principal
Mother Teresa High School
